At the end of the day
are you satisfied?
Was it everything you expected
it to be?
Or did life throw you
curve balls
and line drives
that bruised your
body and ego?
Can satisfaction be found
at the end of a day
filled with our thoughts
of rights and wrongs…
Those which we did
and that which were
done unto us?
Or can it only be
discovered doing
nothing but stretching
our faces to the sky
like plants in search
of sunshine
trying to survive
in such inconsistent
conditions?

For your question of “At the end of the day are you satisfied?”: I think the answer to your question depends on who is answering, who you’re asking, and maybe even situation(s) they’re in or going through. If that question was for me, I think I interpret that question as “Have I earned getting some rest?” and “Did I work/try hard enough or at least do what I can throughout the day to survive and improve or at least try to find ways to get better so that I’m at peace with the decision for me to get some sleep?”. While I’m not sure if I can say if I’m satisfied at the end of the day, I think I feel ok when I decide to nap or slumber.

I agree, I think it does depend on who you ask, the situation, and what people need to feel satisfied. I feel similar to you, as in it depends on what I accomplished, and also how I felt about those accomplishments, plus my interactions with people throughout the day. If those were positive, I feel better about my day. And I do hope you get some peaceful rest each night—we all need it to try and be successful the next day, right? Thanks again, ZT! 🙂
