“I’m a dreamer…a distant dreamer…dreaming far away…from today.”
—“Distant Dreamer” by Duffy

Ya know what’s hard?
Showing up to the blank page everyday, trying to find something meaningful to say. (Did not mean to rhyme this, but now that I’ve tried it, should I strive for it?)
Wondering if I know how to be authentic. Am I afraid of rejection? Blocked by self inspection? Out of touch with my own intentions?
I have a voice, but it’s been quieted over the years despite the small riots I pitched as hissy fits along the way, fighting for rights but not knowing why, or really even caring if I won (I just needed to be heard).
9pm is not my shining hour. My brain powers down like a computer after a virus.
But in all seriousness I came tonight to play. (Also grateful I made it to the end of the day.)
At least, the end in Central Standard Time. Thus ends this silly rhyme.
Question for the night: what do you find challenging?
To all the Dreamers, goodnight! 🌙🖤💫

This post might be one of my favorites from you especially since it sounds like (or could be) a song or music and I strongly relate to you trying to find something since I do the same thing (maybe more times than I should). For your question, one thing I find challenging is trying to recover from loss and from not getting what was hoped for (especially when what was hoped for felt like it was going to happen and seemed like it would have no problem happening). Thankful that you ask.

I love this post! The rhymes were playful and fun. Shows the lighter side of you. Challenging? Life is always challenging me. I think this is why it’s hard to find the balance. Some challenges keep us down more than others. I see that you ended this post quite content that you made it through the day. That is success and it’s good to recognize it. Being grateful as you stated shows progress to me! Being a teacher you meet many challenges in just one day. You’ve got more victories to count than you know! Good 9:00 post!

I’m glad you love it! It was a bit more carefree. Yes, life is always tossing us challenges, and ending it on a good note is something to be grateful for. You’ve always done a great job at teaching me to have hope, and not give up! ❤️

Thank you ZT! I’m working on letting go of perfection, and so many other things. I agree that recovering from loss is one of the biggest challenges in life. It has definitely shaped me and my life choices, and some losses we never fully get over. Although, it sounds like you still have hope, which is wonderful to hear. Hope keeps us going! Thankful for your response and kind words! 😊
